Our Buyer’s Top Winter Coat Picks

Our Buyer’s Top Winter Coat Picks

If you are in the market for a new Winter coat this season, our buyer Lucy has pulled her top picks from instore and online. Still being at the very start of the new season means it is the perfect time to start looking for a new staple jacket with the whole Winter ahead of you. We asked Lucy to tell us all about her favourite pieces, and why they are future staples in your wardrobe…

  1. Holzweiler Besseggen Jacket

Lucy: “Starting with the Holzweiler Besseggen Jacket. Holzweiler is a new brand to us this season from Norway, we are all loving it in-store, it has some great pieces other than coats too so it is definitely worth coming into store and having a browse online! The colour of this puffer is amazing, it’s almost a mushroom-brown that’s a perfect alternative to your usual classic black. It also has a really flattering shape on that isn’t too bulky, but still retains volume.”

The Besseggen Down Jacket is crafted from a polyester fabric, filled with a warm down and feather inside. Designed in a neutral hue, this jacket is the perfect piece to introduce to your winter wardrobe. A sleek mid-length down jacket, the Besseggen is designed with two large patch pockets at the front, stick-in pockets at the side, a detachable hood, and zip closure. The surface is laminated with a hydrophilic membrane; and has a temperature rating effective down to −15 ̊celcius and boasts a 10K/10K Waterproof DWR finishing, which makes it water-resistant.

  1. Herno Gore-Tex Long Puffer

Lucy: “Secondly, we have this navy puffer from Herno. It is the classic a-line shape that we tend to buy from the brand most years. This is a piece that season after season is proven to be an absolute winner.”

Introducing this cosy Gortex Long Puffer from Herno, designed with a high neck, long length and sleeves with an elasticated skin. The midi coat fastens with a long central zip and buttons to conceal, has a deep hood with toggles and a logo on the back. Detailed with zipped pockets on the side of the coat, designed with a classic quilt construction, crafted from polyamide and goose feather mix, the coat is a perfect piece for the new season. Team with trousers and accessorise with jewellery and a bag.

  1. Pyrenex Harmonie 2 Boxy Puffer

Lucy: “Pyrenex is a new brand this season from France. We really love the detail on this coat with the contrasting toggles helping to add an extra interest to it. If you’re looking to branch out on your classic black quilted coat this is a really nice option. The neutral colour means that it still goes with everything in your wardrobe.”

The Harmonie 2 Boxy Puffer is made from a highly water-repellent fabric, designed in a light khaki green. This puffer is filled with an upcycled natural down, and finished with a large, wrap-around collar for flawless protection. Cut for a slightly cropped fit, this jacket has a relaxed silhouette perfect for both stylish and practical wearers.

  1. Belstaff Wren Coat

Lucy: “Finishing off with a classic British brand, Belstaff. This is a new shape for them this season and is super long, so it will keep you really warm. It also belts in at the waist which creates a nice shape for a quilted coat.”

The Wren Coat is made from a stretch nylon fabric crafted in a true black hue. This coat is cut for a regular fit and falls to a flattering below the knee length. A single-breasted down-padded shape with a peak lapel combines elegance with the great outdoors, whilst a matching, adjustable belt helps to add shape and contour the body. With two concealed zip side pockets and a left internal pocket, this coat sacrifices neither style nor practicality.
