The much anticipated Brazilian brand, Farm Rio has finally landed with us instore and online, and we couldn’t be happier about it. Run by a group of creatives, this sunny label has been making moves since its inception in 1997; their belief system based on good energies and beautiful frequencies, they champion all colour and shape that nature brings to our eyes and our feelings.

With 86 stores across their home country, Farm Rio has turned into the most beloved Brazilian contemporary brand, and in 2019 they expanded their horizons by taking the brand overseas, to huge success. In this bright new chapter, their prints travelled worldwide, beginning in the United States with stores in NYC, Miami, and Los Angeles.

The Harrogate Home & Gift Show is back for 2023 from July 16-19th at the Harrogate Convention Centre! As the industry’s favourite UK retail trade show, the Home & Gift show is the ultimate “seasonal round-up of design-led and everyday gifts, homewares, jewellery & fashion accessories and last but not least greetings & stationery”. The Great Yorkshire Show is here!

The Great Yorkshire Show is known as one of the best agricultural shows in the UK, welcoming 140,000 people to the 250-acre showground. The show takes place every year at the Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate, this year from Tuesday 11 – Friday 14 July 2023.

The four day show celebrates the best of agriculture, food, farming and countryside. With traditions that date back to its original start date long with welcome new additions.

A favourite day out amongst the Royal Family, there really is something for everyone at every age. Come along and see show jumping with some of the best riders in the country competing, the best in British livestock competing across the judging rings as well as cutting edge machinery and farming equipment. This year, star performer Lorenzo will be taking to the stage in the Main Ring each day, ready to wow audiences with his expert horsemanship.

But it’s not all horse jumping and agriculture, The Great Yorkshire Show also celebrates hives and honey, forestry, a fabulous food hall, cookery demos, a garden show and countryside pursuits.

New Brands to Know About

We have an exciting new plethora of brands arriving to Morgan Clare this season. Just before they land instore, we’d like to introduce you to three new fashion houses we can’t wait for you to see.

Hunza G

Hunza G is a British swimwear brand originally created in 1984 under the directorship of Peter Meadows, who reworked the infamous crinkle-stretch fabrication to create the high-cut leggy designs we still love today.

Hunza G’s breakthrough moment was after being featured in the beloved 90’s rom-com Pretty Woman. The cutout mini dress worn by Julia Roberts – yes, that mini dress – helped to propel Hunza G into becoming a household name. Taking constant inspiration from their roots, Hunza G keeps a nostalgic nod to the 80’s with modern day twists, featuring bright colours and high-cut one-piece shapes. Hunza G has a one-size-fits-all size range due to their iconic crinkle-stretch fabric. This fabric stretches to fit all sizes, yet has rigidity to hold the shape, contour the body and flatter your silhouette.

House of Dagmar

House of Dagmar is a Swedish fashion brand founded in 2005 by three sisters, Karin Söderlind, Kristina Tjäder and Sofia Wallenstam who decided to pick up the legacy after their late grandmother; Dagmar.

Taking inspiration from their grandmother’s confidence and elevated style, her role as a tailor contributes to the brand’s ethos of crafting high quality, timeless pieces. When House of Dagmar was established with sustainability in mind, including high quality fabrics, high quality in production processes and high quality in their designs.  These three sustainability pillars have been carried through the brand’s history since it’s inception in 2005.

From House of Dagmar, expect classic pieces with clean lines and expert tailoring. They create pieces that last a lifetime, the perfect investments to make now and re-wear from season to season.

Holzweiler

Holzweiler is a Norwegian fashion house first established in 2012 by siblings Susanne & Andreas Holzweiler. The essence of this brand fuses seamless design with effortless functionality, making high-fashion everyday wearable.

The brand is focused on creating timeless pieces, drawing expression from art, architecture, nature and contemporary culture. Originally gaining attention via silk, lambswool & cashmere scarf collections, the brand expanded to ready-to-wear in 2014, enlisting Maria Skappel Holzweiler as Creative Director.

Since then, the brand has taken huge steps to keep as sustainable as possible. At Holzweiler, they insist on creating higher quality product with less waste and fewer materials. The brand creates “tried and true classics” that stand the test of time, avoiding fleeting trends and opting for basic designs that never go out of style.

Wandler

Wandler is a Dutch brand created in 2017 by designer Elza Wandler, who currently lives and works in Amsterdam. This brand is expert in crafting luxury leather goods, with a passion for redefining craftsmanship and reinventing accessories in modern shapes and cuts. They present six collections a year that feature luxury bags, footwear and ready to wear pieces. Wandler has a refined take on femininity, combining inventive use of colour with crisp lines and functionality. Harrogate’s A Celebration of Fashion

On Saturday the 20th May, Harrogate BID (Business Improvement District) is hosting a fashion event to celebrate the eclectic mix of retail the Spa Town has to offer.

With a goal of encouraging footfall back onto the high street, Harrogate BID is allowing the opportunity for retailers to showcase their latest collections at an event that will take place in the Victoria Shopping Centre’s piazza area between 10am and 5pm. A pop-up cat walk will be the focal point of the Celebration of Fashion, where you can expect to see ourselves and other Harrogate retailers including Hoopers, Specsavers, Lush and Primark to take centre stage. Morgan Clare will be showcasing some of our favourite looks from our latest collections, with the help of our local talent models.

Morgan Clare has also been entrusted with judging the community fashion competition, where our expert team will choose a winner amongst talented creatives.

We’ve Rebranded!

Towards the end of the year, Morgan Clare had its 25^th birthday. To celebrate, we underwent a complete rebrand of the business, both online and instore. You may have noticed first a change in logo, which altered to a more contemporary linear design that is now better in keeping with the overall direction of the fashion industry. This then translated into the interior of the store itself, where the branding followed suit and transitioned into a sleek and classic motif. Our social media platforms are being rocketed into the world of Gen Z, with our upcoming introduction to Tik Tok featuring everything from outfit inspiration, trend alerts and top styling tips. Our team have worked tirelessly to create a brand-new website to complete this transformation. We are now able to reflect online the quality of service that we provide in store, introducing never-before-featured online services like our bookable virtual styling.  Morgan Clare’s new website is designed to embody that unique feeling of personal touch we magically capture instore that is so difficult to translate onto a screen. Our personal stylists are now able to be on hand to answer any questions you have regarding sizing, styling and trends.
