Born in Athens to an interior designer Mother and a father that worked in textiles, it was in Mary Katrantzou’s blood to work in fashion. She studied Architecture in American before moving to London to study at the famous Central Saint Martins. Graduating in 2055 to carry onto do her MA, she grew interested in the way printed textiles can change the way and the shape a women’s body can look. She showed her first ready-to-wear collection in London 2009, with some of the biggest store fighting each other to stock her! She now stocks 250 stores all over the world ranging from Selfridges, Barneys and Morgan Clare.
Mary Katrantzou’s collections are based on items or objects that a woman would be unable to wear if it was real, such as perfume bottles, vintage stamps and works of art. Mary has been nominated and received many awards from emerging talent in womeswear, young designer of the year to designer of the year at the British Fashion Awards. Mary Katrantzou has also been involved in many best selling collaborations with Topshop, Longchamp, Moncler and Current/Elliot. The very exciting news about her collaboration with Adidas was announced earlier this year and is set to hit stores in November.
