Alexander Wang

 Alexander Wang , of Chinese American Heritage, was born and raised in San Fransisco.  At 18 he moved to New York to study design and soon achieved success with his first collection, predominantly knitwear.  Alexander Wang went on to win a series of awards including most recently Swaroski womenswear designer of the year in 2010 and his collections developed to included luxury bags and accessories.  His design inspiration is that “Anyone can get all dressed up and glamourous but it is how people dress in their off days, that is the most intriguing”  His collections feature clean, classic, luxurious and refined silhouettes contrasted with an urban street edge.  The way his clothes are styled and worn are as important to him as the clothes themselves and his love for contrasts are reflected throughout his collections- vagabond meets street-smart modernist.
